This page is for general guidelines for editing and creating content on the Will You Snail wiki.

General Format for Pages

For general pages like those for Levels, Secret Levels, and Bosses, their formatting can be found on their respective sample pages. For other pages, the general formatting is (From top to bottom): Description of thing, History of thing (This also means lore, if the thing is a character), Gallery for images of thing, Trivia for fun facts about thing, A "See also" section for other things that are related to thing, References (If there are any).

General Format for Pages, but more in-depth!

Here are specific guidelines when writing pages:

  • It is not advised to refer to the reader in the second person.
  • It is also not advised to use slang terms when writing or editing pages.
    • If one must, however, make sure to give its definition.
  • Make sure that the content has a sense of formality.
  • Always check for spelling and grammatical errors.
  • Only link to another page once. For example, there is no need to link the page for Will You Snail again in a page if it has already been linked previously in the page.
  • The first time referring to Will You Snail should have the question mark, and further references should not.
  • If only a part of a page will have spoilers (And it isn't a section for lore), place {{SpoilerWarning}} under the section with spoilers Only. Otherwise place it at the start of the page.

General Format for Images

Here are specific guidelines for naming and posting images:

  • Use capital letters at the start of every word in the file name.
  • Make it clear what the image is meant to be.
  • The uploaded image should only feature what is necessary.
  • For images of levels, use Color Scheme 2.
