Hearty
Hearty is an easter-egg character in Will You Snail?. He was added as a part of the 2023 Valentine's Day update.
Appearance
Hearty is a heart, drawn in a more rough artstyle, comparable to really early versions of the game.
Unlocking
Hearty can be found through wearing a special hat, found in a room behind the left-most Level Select wall. You can access that room by jumping into a secret entrance in the wall.
Getting rid of
When the player has the hat acquired, a special X, that usually gets rid of hats will appear near the left-most level select wall, making it much easier to get rid of the hat, than to acquire.
Gameplay
When Hearty is present he will chase Shelly throughout the level, ignoring collision with any walls on the way. If Shelly touches Hearty, then Shelly dies. This makes levels with Hearty much harder, and sometimes even impossible.
While present, Hearty will also repeat a single voiceline about him wanting to take Shelly on a date repeatedly, making Hearty the second character to have voicelines after Squid. Unlike Squid though, Hearty's voiceline volume and location is dependent on his location relative to the player.

- It has been confirmed that despite Hearty being added "as a meme", he is going to be left in the game, and balanced [1]
